L&T Tech, Nvidia Launch AI Lung Diagnostics Platform at RSNA

L&T Tech Unveils AI Platform for Lung Diagnostics With Nvidia

L&T Technology Services and Nvidia launched an AI-powered digital twin platform for respiratory diagnostics at the Radiological Society of North America 2025 conference in Chicago on November 30.

The platform integrates CT imaging with deep learning models to create three-dimensional digital replicas of lung anatomy, addressing challenges in bronchoscopy procedures for early detection of lung cancer and chronic respiratory diseases.

Technology and Capabilities

The system uses Nvidia MONAI for medical image segmentation and Nvidia TensorRT for AI inference, enabling interactive visualization of airways, blood vessels, lung lobes, and lesions. The platform transforms static CT snapshots into dynamic models that evolve with patient data, providing clinicians with path planning and navigation support during bronchoscopy.

Traditional bronchoscopy faces limitations navigating small, peripheral lung nodules, often resulting in inconclusive results and repeated procedures. Only 28.1% of lung cancer cases nationally are diagnosed at an early stage, when five-year survival rates reach 65%.

Approximately 225,000 new lung cancer cases were diagnosed in the United States in 2025. Estimates suggest 40% to 70% of lung cancer patients also have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Research indicates U.S. adults with COPD face 76% higher odds of developing lung cancer compared to those without the condition.

Executive Statements

“AI is reshaping what’s possible in diagnostics and medical technology,” said Alind Saxena, Executive Director and President of Mobility and Tech at L&T Technology Services. “Our collaboration with Nvidia combines LTTS’ expertise in AI-driven diagnostics and predictive analytics with Nvidia’s powerful modeling and visualization platform.”

David Niewolny, Director of Business Development for Healthcare and Medical at Nvidia, said the partnership “demonstrates how Nvidia is empowering the healthcare industry with accelerated computing and AI innovation,” bringing “the vision of real-time AI and biological digital twins powered by Nvidia to clinical practice.”

Conference Context

The announcement occurred at RSNA 2025, which hosts over 24,000 professionals through December 4 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Organizers describe the event as featuring the largest radiology AI showcase, with more than 200 companies demonstrating AI and machine learning solutions.

The platform targets improved care for lung cancer, COPD, and infectious diseases.
